General Manager, Comanche Nation Casino

Shandi Tahhahwah serves as Comanche Nation Casino’s General Manager in Lawton, Oklahoma. As a proud member of the Comanche Tribe, she has strived to consistently build a unique atmosphere rich in history and culture throughout her career at Comanche Nation Entertainment. 

At Comanche Nation Casino, Shandi is responsible for determining company goals and expectations, establishing a successful work environment and coordinating the construction of the casino. Shandi supervises all financial and budgeting operations, as well as team members. 

Since joining Comanche Nation Entertainment in 2007, she has worked throughout a variety of casino departments and operations in effort to optimize her understanding of every aspect of the trade. Across three different properties, her experience has ranged from Cage Cashier and Cage Supervisor to Guest Service Representative and Internal Auditor with Comanche Nation Gaming Commission, where she also contributed to writing the Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).

Shandi managed the marketing operations for Comanche Spur Casino before receiving a career changing promotion in 2015. She became the Marketing Manager for both Comanche Spur Casino and Comanche Nation Casino and then advanced to assisting in Training and Development.

In 2020, Shandi became the Operations Manager at Comanche Nation Casino, where she was responsible for cash operations, environmental services (EVS), security and managers on duty. Two years later, she was selected to help build and open Comanche Cache Casino as its General Manager. 

After successfully opening Comanche Cache C-Store and Casino (Phase I), Shandi took on her current role as Comanche Nation Casino’s General Manager. 

As General Manager, she remains focused on creating an inclusive and equal opportunity environment to make everyone feel like family, not only for team members but also for guests. With the support of her team, her efforts are set on providing customers with an unparalleled gaming experience accompanied by elements of Comanche Nation’s history and culture. 

Shandi earned her associate’s degree in business management from Cameron University, where she is also pursuing her bachelor’s degree in the same field. When she’s not overseeing the casino’s day-to-day operations, Shandi enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.
