General Manager, Comanche Red River Casino and Hotel | Comanche War Pony Casino
Jay Martinez serves as the General Manager of two properties: Comanche Red River Casino and Hotel and War Pony Casino in Devol, Oklahoma. He is a member of the Comanche tribe and has more than a decade of experience with Comanche Nation Entertainment.
Prior to his current position, Jay served as the General Manager at Comanche Spur Casino. Jay oversees all casino departments and operations, including day-to-day operations, casino staff and guest satisfaction. Jay works to provide a harmonious work environment for all Comanche Red River Casino and Hotel employees, directs staff in the maintenance of the property and ensures all casino employees are adhering to current gaming and governmental health regulations. Jay supervises all operating costs, budgets and ensures machine performance forecasts are meeting and exceeding company expectations.
Following his first position with Comanche Nation Entertainment as a cashier for the Comanche Star Smoke Shop in February 2011, Jay worked his way through every department of casino operations. He was later transferred to Comanche Star Casino where he worked in security and as a guest services representative.
In 2013, Jay was selected to participate in the company’s then Leadership and Development mentorship program in which he was trained at Comanche Red River Casino Hotel in every casino department. The program allowed participants to receive intensive training in nearly every part of the casino at every level of experience, from entry level to management. Throughout the program, Jay served as a Players Club Manager, Table Games Dealer, Slot Manager, Casino Compliance Technician, Main Bank Cashier, Revenue Auditor, Revenue Audit Supervisor and more.
After completing the program in 2016, Jay was promoted to Table Games Floor Supervisor at Comanche Red River. Two years later, he accepted a position as Manager on Duty at the same property. In 2019, Jay became interim General Manager at Comanche Spur Casino and was promoted to the casino’s permanent General Manager in 2020. In 2022, Jay assumed leadership of Comanche Red River Casino and Hotel.
When the Covid-19 Pandemic occurred; Jay worked with Comanche Nation Entertainment to implement new business strategies related to COVID-19 regulations. Jay helped implement a state-of-the-art sanitization and air filtration system at Comanche Spur Casino. The sanitization system, which was installed at every Comanche Nation Entertainment property, was one of the most advanced cleaning systems put into place by any company in Southwest Oklahoma.
Jay completed his prerequisites for business administration at Comanche Nation College and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Jay lives in Walters, Oklahoma with his wife, Kristen, and two children, Kaleb and Kenzi.
