Donations to benefit Southwest Oklahoma families and children
Comanche Cares, a community giving initiative by Comanche Nation Entertainment, is brightening the holiday season for families across Southern Oklahoma with its annual Toy Drive. The Toy Drive will be open for donations at all Comanche Nation Entertainment properties from noon to 10 p.m. on Wednesday December 9 and 16.
“Our Comanche Cares Toy Drive is something we look forward to every year,” said Mia Tahdooahnippah, CEO of Comanche Nation Entertainment. “This year has been especially hard on many families in our community, so we are thankful to be able to give back for this holiday season.”
Patrons of Comanche Nation Casino in Lawton, Comanche Red River Hotel Casino in Devol, Comanche Star Casino in Walters and Comanche Spur Casino in Elgin can donate new toys at designated drop-off locations within the casinos. Those who show a receipt for a toy donation valued between $5 and $25 will receive double their donation in Comanche Credit.
All donated toys will be distributed to organizations and nonprofits throughout Southwest Oklahoma, including Team Jaden Foundation, Comanche Nation Police Department, Comanche Nation Tribe and Fletcher Christmas Store, an organization that offers free holiday gifts to families in need.
Last year, Comanche Cares collected more than $200,000 in toys that were distributed to community organizations throughout Southern Oklahoma. The program benefitted nearly 30 churches, local fire departments, Oklahoma schools and more.
“I am incredibly grateful for the many toys our guests and supporters donate each year,” said Tahdooahnippah. “It shows how much our community truly cares. I have the pleasure of seeing how much of a difference these donations make in the lives of local families in need. Every child deserves a gift to unwrap during the holidays, and your support makes it possible.”
