Employees were honored in week-long celebration

LAWTON – Comanche Nation Entertainment (CNE) recognized its housekeeping and environmental services team members in a week-long celebration during International Housekeeping and Environmental Services Week in September. The effort was part of the company’s “Family First-Comanche Cares” initiative to show appreciation for members of the CNE family.

“We never want to miss an opportunity to show are team members our gratitude for their efforts and professionalism they display every day,” said Jack Crane, COO of CNE. “We want each of our employees to always feel like they are an important part of our CNE family.”

The Family First-Comanche Cares initiative not only includes efforts to recognize individual and groups of team members throughout the company for their work, but it is also an extension of CNE’s efforts to put their team member’s own families first.

“We treat members of our staff like family and we support their responsibilities at home with their own families,” Crane said. “Employees should not have to worry about missing their children’s appointments, games or school functions because of work. Family should always come first.”

International Housekeeping and Environmental Services Week at CNE was led by the company’s human resources director Tisha Henson in partnership with PDS Gaming. The week-long celebration included:

  • Day 1: CNE kicked off the week with a breakfast celebration with more than 80 hotel and environmental services workers across all properties. Staff members enjoyed a wide selection of doughnuts and coffee.
  • Day 2: Housekeeping and environmental services team members enjoyed their own pizza parties with a selection of pizza toppings.
  • Day 3: Housekeeping and environmental services team members were gifted hand-selected snack bags with a variety of candies and messages of appreciation that paired with each candy flavor.
  • Day 4: CNE threw an ice cream celebration for its team members, featuring an array of ice cream bar flavors.
  • Day 5: CNE topped off the week with cake, punch and grand prizes for each hotel and environmental services team member. Prizes consisted of a variety of family-centric gift baskets, including a campfire kit, complete with a family pack of s’mores ingredients, and a fishing kit stocked full of everything needed for a memorable day fishing out on the water.

“The entire week was filled with so much appreciation for these team members,” Henson said. “Hotel and environmental services roles are not normally seen or noticed by guests, and so they often do not get as much recognition for their incredibly hard work. They keep our properties clean and our company in working order.”
